There's something strange about Wisconsin. Maybe it's the dark pine forests that stretch for miles in The Northwoods or the forgotten roads that snake between small towns.
Or maybe it's the old immigrant folklore that carried across the Great Lakes generations ago.
Or maybe it's the simple fact that around here, everyone seems to know a story that they can't quite explain.
The Weird Wisconsin Podcast was create to uncover those eerie legends, haunted places, strange history, cryptids, disappearances, and forgotten stories that are hiding across the Midwest.
This podcast isn't just about what happened...it's about the stories that stay with us...

Why I created this podcast
When I was young, I spent hours listening to stories told by my grandparents. More specifically by my Aunt Sue. She really lit the flame in me for a good story. I remember flipping through old books that she had that were filled with strange places, legends, and mysterious Wisconsin storues that I couldn't stop thinking about after I closed the pages.

I also grew up hearing whispers about my own family mystery: "We don't talk about crazy Stella."
Stella was my great-great-aunt -- a woman who was adopted into the family, disappeared, changed her name, and left behind decades of unanswered questions and family stories.
That mystery stayed with me from the first time I set eyes upon that black and white photo of her from the early 1900's staring back at the camera with a glare that dared me to dig deeper.
I grew up along the Lake Michigan shoreline with family ties all over the state of Wisconsin. Where I grew up there were spooky old cemeteries filled with stories of ghosts, local legends, and working near places that most people looked at you like, "OMG you WORK THERE?"...this only deepened my fascination with folklore, mystery, the strange energy that certain places seem to carry, and the love of a story being shared.
The Weird Wisconsin Podcast exists somehwere between folklore archive, campfire story, and Midwest ghost tale.
Some stoires are historical. Some are paranormal. Some are impossible to explain.
But all of them are part of the strange folklore woven into Wisconsin's history.
