One story in particular that stuck with me was from my Grandma Phyllis after I'd asked about a little girl in an old family photo. Her name is Stella. And all my Grandma would say is, "We don't talk about crazy Stella."

Stella was my great-great-aunt -- a woman who was adopted into the family, disappeared, changed her name, and left behind decades of unanswered questions and family stories.

I grew up along the Lake Michigan shoreline with family ties all over the state of Wisconsin. Living here surrounded me with folklore, history, and eerie stories passed down through generations. From the old cemetery in Glenbuehla and the old asylum in Sheboygan to cryptids and haunted backroads, I became fascinated by the way stories shape places and they way that certain mysteries, like Stella's story, linger.

The Weird Wisconsin Podcast was created to uncover those stories. Not just the famous ones. But the forgotten ones too.
